Let’s say goodbye to Amanda!
She didn’t have a many people who chose her as David did, so there is not too much impact on the pool. Amanda committed one of the Cardinal sins of Idol (along with picking a song that’s remorseful about leaving or saying goodbye, doing a straight cover of a Celine Dion or Whitney Houston song, or looking overly angry about being in the bottom three), she announced it was ok if she didn’t have Idol, as she had her little bar to return to and her 20 fans to play for. American obliged her. Did Kristy deserve to go? Of course. Kristy wants to be there though, although I don’t think her fans can save her beyond another week. (The file is attached, the standing are still not so interesting. I think we are a few weeks away from that.
Carly in the Top Three was a surprise. She’s kind of coasting though, and she gave one of those preachy explanation of the song choice America hates. Idol is NOT a hardship. Don’t equate it with such.
As for the show. It was really dull, and for the most part, these songs don’t really resonate with the performers. Great songs, yes but a few generations removed from the people singing, which is a problem even though Idol doesn’t want it to be. Next week’s theme is 90’s so it should be a bit better. I really only though David was very good this week, with a couple of other people being just ok. I hate when everyone is bad, the judges are bored, and just them trying to switch up the comments leads to some people getting over praised or bashed unnecessarily.

Sign of a bad show, there is nothing I was even remotely tempted to buy from ITunes. Usually there is at least one song I am considering, this week nothing at all. I guess the best thing this week is all my picks are still around!
